The Protestant temple

On the front of the temple is written ‘Reformed Church of France’ which reminds that Protestantism was widespread during the time of the Reformation in the 16th century, encouraged greatly by the Lords of the Parc Soubise. In 1628, the first temple was built in the village of Mouchamps. After the Law of Nantes the Protestants were forced to bury their dead either in their gardens or somewhere on their land at night time. Since then, protestantism has been regularly celebrated by a pastor living in the parish.
